Passions

There are so many things in the world I consider myself passionate about:

  1. Sex and Gender Equality:  As a female growing up, I did not realize until I was halfway through my high school career how many societal issues there are in the world that deal with inequality with not only genders, but with many other groups as well.  These issues I hope, that as I grow older, change. I am determined to be a part of that change.
  2. The Environment:  I don’t even know how to put into words the importance of taking care of the world we live in.  I want to leave the planet in better shape than I entered it.  I keep the impacts of my actions on the earth in my mind at all times.
  3. Learning:  I love learning in all forms.  I love learning about the world and the different cultures.  I love learning every subject of school.  I love learning about myself and about others.  I think being educated on topics is the first step to world acceptance and a healthy world and community to live in.
  4. Mental Health: I think a large part of living a healthy lifestyle that is often overlooked is mental health.  Mental health plays a large role in someone’s ability to be physically healthy. Through my own experiences I have developed a deep love and appreciation for mental health and encourage it in others as well as in myself.
  5. Serving and Advocating for Others:  My biggest passion is living my life for others.  I try and live my life with the impact my actions have on others on my mind at all times.  I believe I should be helping others at all costs, and I believe every person has the ability to change the world in some way and should do their part.
